Faridabad/Alive News: Al-Falah University, Faridabad, and its associated institution, Al-Falah University School of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Dhauj, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ajay Ranga hoisted the Tricolour and took the salute at an impressive march-past presented by student volunteers. Earlier, he paid floral tributes to the martyrs.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Ranga extended Independence Day greetings and paid tribute to the freedom fighters whose sacrifices secured the nation’s freedom. He urged students and youth to draw inspiration from their courage, discipline and spirit of service, and contribute to nation-building through knowledge, innovation, research and social responsibility. Registrar Dr. Meha Sharma and Controller of Examination Dr. Rajiv Kumar Singh were also present on this occasion.
Highlighting the University’s present phase, Prof. Ranga said that while the past year had been challenging for Al-Falah University, the institution has entered a new phase following the Haryana Government taking the University under its administrative control in March 2026. He said the arrangement has strengthened institutional stability, transparency, accountability and academic governance.
He informed that the day-to-day operations and academic administration are being strengthened with the support of a senior leadership team deputed from J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad. A series of measures have also been initiated to streamline academic and administrative processes, with faculty and staff recruitment, safety and security, University and hospital management, and staff grievances being accorded priority.
Prof. Ranga emphasised the potential of the University’s 70-acre campus, modern infrastructure, laboratories, research facilities and 700-bed Al-Falah Charitable Medical Hospital to support quality education, practical learning and research. He called upon faculty, staff and students to work collectively to take the University towards greater academic and research excellence.
The celebrations witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of villagers from the surrounding areas, besides Heads of Departments, officers, faculty members, staff and students. Patriotic cultural performances by students added to the spirit of the occasion.
In accordance with the updated national protocol and Government guidelines, Vande Mataram was rendered before the National Anthem. The programme was organised under the overall supervision of Registrar Dr. Meha Sharma and concluded with the distribution of sweets.
