Sports/Alive News: Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly received a 30-day ban and a fine of €255 for leaving the national team’s training camp during the international break. However, the suspension will not affect his upcoming international matches, as the punishment is considered effective from September 30.

The 41-year-old Al-Nassr forward is expected to be available for Portugal’s next international match on November 14.

Disagreement With Coach

Ronaldo was reportedly unhappy after remaining on the bench during Portugal’s 2-1 win over Norway in late September. He allegedly had a disagreement with coach Jorge Jesus after expecting to play for around 30 minutes.

According to the account, Jesus asked Ronaldo to warm up but did not send him onto the field. Ronaldo was also reportedly dissatisfied with the coach’s handling of the matter afterward.

Ronaldo Left Camp Before Denmark Match

Following the disagreement, Ronaldo left Portugal’s training camp before the match against Denmark. He later apologised to his teammates and supporters, acknowledging that he should face the consequences of his actions.

The Al-Nassr captain also said that, as a role model, he should be held accountable for his decisions.

Disciplinary Proceedings

The Portuguese Football Federation reportedly began formal disciplinary proceedings against Ronaldo on October 10. The case has now resulted in a 30-day suspension and a €255 fine.

With the ban counted from September 30, Ronaldo is expected to remain available for Portugal’s next scheduled international fixture on November 14.
