Faridabad/ Alive News: In tune with the national endeavour, ‘Khelo India’, by Honourable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, D.A.V. Public School, Sector 37, Faridabad held its Inter House Sports Meet, in order to foster the physical, physiological and socio-well being of a child. The School Principal, Deepti Jagota, declared the Meet open by hoisting the Inter House Flag. She motivated the students to actively inculcate sports in their lives. The students of the six houses led by their zealous house captains with the flags of their respective houses, held high, took oath, endorsing the values of discipline, responsibility, self confidence, sacrifice, and accountability, upholding the honour and integrity of their school. The release of balloons, symbolising the high aims and aspirations of the students, by the Principal was an awe inspiring moment for everyone. The excitement of the students was palpalable as they actively competed in various competitions such as Table Tennis, Badminton, Dog and the Bone, Lemon and Spoon race and Book Balancing Race, vying for the coveted medals. Not to be left behind, the teachers also participated in the Musical Chair as well as book balancing race with elan. The support staff also took part in the events like 100 meter race as well as book balancing race.
Closing ceremony held on 31st January, 2018, unfolded with fun races and games for the parents which saw enthusiastic participation. By invoking the almighty’s blessing and to the reverbating DAV Gaan, the school initiated the ceremony. The distinguished chief guest, multifaceted S.S.Chaudhary, Principal, D.A.V. Public School, Sector 14, Faridabad, added grace to the occasion with his dignified persona. An avid sportsperson and an educationist par excellence, he encouraged the students to strive for excellence in all the spheres of life while enumerating the contribution of D.A.V. Public Schools to the welfare of the society. The incredible musical show (instrumental) by the pre-primary as well as the primary students was breathtaking. The report read out by the head girl apprised everyone with the innumerable activities undertaken in the school for the holistic development of the students. The agility and ease displayed by the young students while performing the asanas in the Yoga presentation mesmerised the audience.
The assembled gathering cheered for the students of class III as they enthusiastically participated in the finals of Lemon and Spoon race which culminated in the astute display of sportsmanship. The hardwork, dedication and zeal of the students was aptly rewarded when the winners mounted the victory stands. The delightful moment arrived when Shivalik House was adjudged the winner of the Sports Trophy and the Discipline Trophy went to Vindhyachal House. The euphoria reached its zenith when they witnessed an astounding performance of Bihu dance. A heartfelt Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone for contributing towards the success of the event, was rendered by the Supervisory Head of the Primary Segment, Sadhna Bhat. The event came to a close with the lowering of the Interhouse Flag and chanting of the Shanti Path.
