Mumbai/Alive News: Three people suspected of being involved in the firing incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff have been arrested at Kota railway station in Rajasthan. The accused were travelling on the Pune-Jaipur Express when a joint team of the Rajasthan Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and Kota City Police caught them following information shared by Mumbai Police.
The three accused include two people from Haryana and one from Bihar. Police suspect that they are linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. One of the accused is a 17-year-old minor from Sonipat, Haryana. The other two have been identified as 22-year-old Hritik Kumar, alias Roshan, from Begusarai, Bihar, and 18-year-old Rehan from Sonipat. Hritik Kumar reportedly works as a Rapido rider and lives in Andheri West, Mumbai.
According to investigating agencies, the accused had allegedly monitored Tiger Shroff’s movements before the attack. They reportedly knew that the actor regularly visited a football ground in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sundays. The firing took place on Sunday evening when the attackers allegedly targeted his car as he was leaving the area.
After the incident, the suspects reportedly followed a planned escape route through Vile Parle and Andheri. They allegedly abandoned their motorcycle near Andheri West railway station and travelled towards Borivali before moving towards Gujarat. Police later traced their movements and arrested them at Kota railway station.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed the arrests and said Mumbai Police had shared information with Rajasthan Police. He said the suspects had travelled towards Surat before boarding the Pune-Jaipur Express, which led to their arrest in Kota.
Tiger Shroff escaped the firing without injuries, but his driver and another person were injured in the incident. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has reportedly claimed responsibility through a social media post. However, police have not yet verified the authenticity of the claim.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Tiger Shroff at his residence in Mumbai’s Bandra area late Sunday night. He met the actor and his family, enquired about their well-being and assured them of adequate security.
Shinde said gang violence would not be tolerated in Mumbai and warned that those responsible for the attack would face strict action. Referring to the action taken against gangs in the 1990s, he said the authorities needed to take strong steps against criminal networks again.
