Delhi Launches Online Liquor Booking App; Buyers Must Collect Bottles Within 48 Hours

New Delhi/Alive News: Delhi residents can now book liquor online through a new mobile app called Delhi Liquor Booking, launched by the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC). The app is linked to around 208 liquor retail stores across the city.

However, the service does not offer home delivery. Customers must visit their selected store and collect their bottles within 48 hours of completing the online booking and payment.

QR Code Required for Collection

The app allows customers to check available liquor brands, select a preferred store, and choose the bottle size and quantity. After making the payment, users receive a QR code that must be shown at the store to collect their order.

Officials said the initiative aims to reduce crowds and waiting times at liquor shops, ease pressure on payment counters, and improve transparency in pricing and billing.

Age Limit and Purchase Restrictions

According to the rules, users must be at least 25 years old to book liquor through the app. The stated purchase limits are up to 9 litres of whisky and 18 litres of beer per person.

Customers can cancel their bookings before collecting the bottles. However, liquor cannot be returned once it has been sold or collected from the store.

The new facility is intended to make liquor purchases more convenient by allowing customers to check availability and complete payments online before visiting a retail outlet.
