Faridabad/Alive News: The 5th National Quality Convention commenced today at J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad. The two-day event is being jointly organized by the Safety and Quality Forum (SQF), The Institution of Engineers (India), IEI Faridabad Local Centre, and the Department of Electronics Engineering, J.C. Bose University.
Centered on the theme “Next-Gen Quality System for India: Digital, Green and Human-Centric Engineering for National Excellence,” the convention aims to promote future-ready quality systems driven by innovation, sustainability and people-centric engineering.
The inaugural session began with ceremonial lamp lighting and Ganesh Vandana. Welcoming the gathering, Er. Inderdeep Singh Oberoi, FIE, Chairman, IEI Faridabad Local Centre, emphasized that quality must become a culture and mindset for national progress.
Prof. Pradeep Kumar Dimri, FIE, Convener, highlighted the importance of intelligent, sustainable and human-centric quality systems for India’s future growth. Prof. Munish Vashishath, FIE, Chairperson, Department of Electronics Engineering, welcomed delegates and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to innovation, research and quality education.
Mr. Devendra Gill, Chairman, SQF, stressed continuous improvement and innovation, while Maj Gen M.J.S. Syali, VSM (Retd.), Secretary & Director General, IEI, called upon engineering institutions to lead quality transformation.
In his presidential address, Er. Manish M. Kothari, FIE, President, IEI, urged professionals and institutions to adopt emerging technologies and sustainable practices to make India a global benchmark in quality excellence.
The official souvenir of the convention was released and four Quality Excellence Awards were presented. Sponsors including Delhi State Centre, KARAM and URS were also felicitated.
A strong academic response was witnessed with nearly 70 research papers received, of which 28 papers were shortlisted for presentation. International experts also joined through online sessions. A 12-hour Hackathon is being held alongside the convention, where student teams are competing on innovation-driven challenges.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Shri Pramod Kumar, Director, SQF, who thanked all dignitaries, participants, sponsors and organizers for their support.
The convention will continue with keynote sessions, technical paper presentations and expert discussions on AI, renewable energy, sustainable manufacturing, digital security and next-generation quality systems.
