Faridabad/ Alive News: Homerton Grammar School, Sector 21 A, Faridabad celebrated ‘World Radio Day’ in a unique way. Radio is revered as it is the oldest medium of communication. Senior class students made banners and posters related to this form of communication and classes 5th to 8th students discussed about pros and cons of the radio.
Students also gave information regarding radio communication and they also threw light on how it helps to enhance knowledge and spread national and international events happening around the globe. Additionally it provides information about various games which enhance the knowledge and also serves as a source of entertainment. It forces us to think on various burning issues which also enhance our analytical ability.
Students discussed about the negative aspects like the fact that excess exposure to radio waves harms the environment and also affects human health. Students also discussed about the history and usefulness of radio.
Various educational programmes initiated by United Nations are observed by Homerton Grammar which plays a major role in developing an understanding of society and the scientific developments. Homerton is certified by UNESCO and through today’s programme the significance of radio was spread among the youth.
