Faridabad/Alive News: DAV Public School, NH-3 NIT Faridabad organized a workshop on Gender Sensitivity for teachers on 22 November 2025. The aim of the workshop was to create a more inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment for students.
The session was conducted by Dr. Babita Dashrath Ingale and Ms. Deepti Mendiratta, who shared their deep knowledge and experience on the topic. The workshop included interactive activities, group discussions, and case studies that helped teachers understand their own thoughts, biases, and behavior.
Teachers learned about the importance of using inclusive language, identifying and challenging gender stereotypes, and ensuring a safe and respectful classroom environment. They were also trained in practical strategies to promote gender equality in their teaching such as using diverse examples, teaching materials, and encouraging equal participation.
Participants shared that the workshop increased their awareness and understanding of gender sensitivity and the challenges faced by students from different backgrounds. They felt better equipped to create an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
The school expects this workshop to positively impact the overall school environment by promoting respect, empathy, and inclusivity. By empowering teachers with these skills, the school hopes to better address the diverse needs of its students.
