JC Bose Holds National Workshop on Spectroscopic Techniques to Support Industry Quality Standards

Faridabad/Alive News: J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad organized a one-week National Workshop and Hands-on Training on Spectroscopic and Analytical Techniques from January 19 to 23, 2026. The workshop is being conducted by the Central Instrumentation Laboratory (CIL) of the University.

The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Rajive Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of the University, and Dr. Mohana Krishna Reddy Mudiam, Director, Institute of Pesticide Formulation Technology (IPFT), Gurugram, who attended the event as the Chief Guest.

While addressing the participants, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Kumar said that such workshops play an important role in strengthening research, improving skills, and promoting collaboration between universities and industries. He also highlighted the importance of testing and calibration certifications for maintaining quality standards and technical competence in industries.

He added that the Central Instrumentation Laboratory, equipped with advanced scientific instruments, is ready to provide testing, calibration, and analytical services to industries and academic institutions at very affordable rates. This initiative will help industries improve their quality assurance systems.

Chief Guest Dr. Mohana Krishna Reddy Mudiam emphasized the growing need for practical training in modern spectroscopic and analytical techniques. He said these skills are especially important in fields such as pesticide formulation, environmental testing, quality control, and regulatory compliance. He appreciated the workshop for connecting academic learning with real industrial needs.

Prof. Maneesha Garg, Director of CIL, shared detailed information about the laboratory. She explained that CIL is a centralized facility that provides access to advanced instruments for teaching, research, and development across different departments. These facilities help researchers and students use high-end equipment that may not be available individually in departments.

She also informed that the five-day workshop is designed to give participants strong theoretical knowledge along with hands-on practical training. The program also encourages discussion, interaction, and collaborative learning.

The workshop includes expert lectures, technical sessions, and group-wise practical training on advanced instruments. Experts from J.C. Bose University, IPFT Gurugram, and leading industry partners such as HORIBA India, ZEISS, SEMILAB, Shimadzu India, and IR Technology Services Pvt. Ltd. are conducting the sessions.

The program was convened by Dr. Vinod Kumar, and the event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Deepansh Sharma, Deputy Director.
