Sports/Alive News: Indian cricket all-rounder Hardik Pandya has won a baseball challenge organised by popular YouTuber MrBeast and received a prize of around ₹95 lakh ($100,000). However, instead of keeping the prize money, Hardik decided to donate the entire amount to support underprivileged children and animal welfare.
According to reports, the donation will benefit ADAPT, an organisation working for people with disabilities, and Community Streeties India, which supports the welfare of stray animals.
Hardik Takes on MrBeast in Baseball
MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, featured several famous sports personalities in his latest sports challenge video. The participants included basketball stars LeBron James and Caitlin Clark, footballer Erling Haaland, gymnast Simone Biles and figure skater Alysa Liu.
Hardik also participated in the challenge despite having no previous experience playing baseball. He competed against MrBeast in a home-run contest, which required players to hit the ball as far as possible.
The Indian all-rounder performed impressively and defeated the YouTuber to win the $100,000 prize. Indian YouTuber CarryMinati also appeared in the video.
Entire Prize Money Donated to Charity
Hardik’s decision to donate his entire winnings became the biggest highlight of the challenge. His contribution will support people with disabilities and organisations working for the welfare of stray animals.
His appearance in the video also introduced the Indian cricketer to a wider international audience.
Hardik’s Future with Mumbai Indians
Meanwhile, discussions about Hardik’s future with Mumbai Indians have also attracted attention. According to reports, Rohit Sharma could return as the team’s captain.
Hardik has reportedly agreed to play under Rohit if a possible trade deal with another franchise does not take place. Hardik was appointed Mumbai Indians captain ahead of the 2024 season, replacing Rohit, a decision that faced criticism from several fans.
