National/Alive News: Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has launched a fresh attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that foreign forces played a role in bringing him to power. Gandhi also challenged the Prime Minister to hold an open debate on the issue.
In a strongly worded post on X, Gandhi said, “Mr Modi, stop lying to this nation. You became Prime Minister because of foreign help, and you remain in office because of foreign help.” He also raised concerns over alleged foreign influence on India’s financial system.
Modi accuses Opposition of trying to divide the country
Gandhi’s remarks came after Prime Minister Modi criticised the Opposition during the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations in Gujarat on October 31. Without directly naming Gandhi, Modi described the Opposition as an ‘Avrodh Paksh’ (obstructive force) instead of a constructive opposition. He also questioned the foreign meetings of Opposition leaders and alleged that certain forces were conspiring to divide the country.
Rahul targets Modi and CEC at INDIA bloc rally
On November 1, Gandhi addressed the INDIA bloc rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan against the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Calling the 2024 Lok Sabha election illegal, Gandhi claimed that around 15% of voters had been removed from electoral rolls after the polls. He alleged that the election was influenced by manipulation of EVMs and voter lists.
Gandhi also targeted Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging that he had facilitated electoral irregularities. He claimed that without Kumar, Modi would not have become Prime Minister and Amit Shah would not have become Home Minister.
Gandhi further accused the RSS of exercising control over several institutions and said the Opposition would continue its fight against alleged electoral irregularities.
