New Delhi/Alive News: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is planning a major overhaul of its organisational structure, including reducing the number of regions from 11 to nine and creating around 90 divisions in place of the existing 46 provinces, according to sources.
The proposed changes aim to decentralise the organisation, improve coordination and distribute responsibilities more effectively across different levels.
For the first time, the RSS is also planning to establish organisational units at the state level. These units will have a state pracharak and a state karyawah, while the post of state sanghchalak will not be included in the proposed structure.
Three-Day Meeting in Indore
The RSS will hold its Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal meeting in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, from November 2 to 4. The three-day meeting will discuss the proposed restructuring, activities undertaken during the organisation’s centenary year and national and international issues.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, six joint general secretaries and other senior functionaries are expected to attend.
Changes Planned in Meeting Schedule
The proposed plan also includes changes to the frequency of organisational meetings. The Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha, the RSS’s highest decision-making body, is expected to meet every three years in Nagpur instead of annually.
Regional-level meetings are proposed to be held every two years.
The changes are intended to strengthen coordination between regional, divisional and state-level units. If implemented, the restructuring would significantly alter the RSS’s existing administrative framework and the way it manages organisational activities across the country.
