Mumbai/Alive News: The two men accused of opening fire at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s vehicle reportedly stayed in a hotel in Mumbai’s Andheri East for five days before the shooting. Police are investigating their movements, the preparations for the attack and a reported incident in which a pistol misfired at their hotel hideout.
According to sources, the accused checked into Room No. 201 on October 14, paying around ₹1,500 per day. They allegedly identified themselves as residents of Hisar, Haryana, to conceal their identities. They checked out on the afternoon of October 18, shortly before the firing incident in Juhu.
Investigators suspect that the men left the hotel daily in auto-rickshaws to conduct reconnaissance and identify locations connected to the alleged attack. Police are also examining reports that a pistol supplied to the group misfired during testing at the hotel. Staff reportedly learned about the incident only when police visited the premises on October 20.
Three Accused Arrested in Kota
Three accused were arrested by Kota police from a train on Monday while they were allegedly planning to escape to Nepal. They were subsequently handed over to Mumbai Police and brought to the city on Wednesday.
The accused have been identified as Rehan alias Sukka, 18, from Sonipat, Haryana; Ritik Kurmi alias Roshan, 22, originally from Begusarai, Bihar, and living in Mumbai; and Phool Singh, 18, from Haryana.
Five to Six Rounds Fired at Vehicle
The shooting occurred in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening, when at least two men allegedly fired at Shroff’s vehicle before escaping on a motorcycle. The actor escaped relatively unhurt, while his driver and a bystander sustained injuries.
Mumbai Police said five to six rounds were fired at the vehicle. A motorcycle suspected of being used in the attack was later found abandoned in Andheri.
A case has been registered under provisions relating to attempted murder and the Arms Act. Investigators are continuing to examine the accused’s movements, the weapon and the circumstances surrounding the attack.
