Faridabad/AliveNews: DAV Gian Prakash Chopra Public School, Sector 49, Faridabad, celebrated Grandparents’ Day with great enthusiasm and warmth under the able leadership of Principal Ms. Jyoti Dahiya. The occasion was graced by the Chief Guest Dr. Vijay Luxmi, Director, Vrinda International School, Faridabad and General Secretary, Sahodaya School Complex Faridabad Educational Chapter, along with Ms. Shikha Soni, Principal, DAV Public School, Jasola Vihar.
The celebration commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a prayer and the DAV Anthem. In her welcome address, Principal ma’am highlighted the crucial role of grandparents in shaping their grandchildren’s thoughts, nurturing values and fostering emotional and moral development. She emphasised that grandparents are the pillars of wisdom, love and guidance in a family.
The cultural programme added vibrancy to the occasion, featuring a welcome dance dedicated to grandparents, a retro-themed dance, Ganesh Stuti, Jai Jai Ram and a special presentation based on the Ramayana, showcasing the richness of Indian culture and traditions.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Dr. Vijay Luxmi shared personal experiences reflecting the profound importance of grandchildren in grandparents’ lives and the unique emotional bond they share. Ms. Shikha Soni appreciated the enthusiastic performances of the tiny tots and highlighted that DAV institutions uphold a rich legacy of promoting cultural values alongside contemporary education.
The celebration served as a heartfelt tribute to grandparents, acknowledging their unconditional love, sacrifices and invaluable contribution to family life. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the Shanti Path and the National Anthem.
