Faridabad/Alive News: Faridabad Model School, Sector-31, organized a Self-Defence Workshop on its campus to educate students about personal safety and security. The session was led by Inspector Usha Rani, SHO of Mahila Thana, Faridabad, and Sub Inspector Asha, along with members of the Durga Shakti Rapid Action Force.
The officials interacted with students and spoke about important safety topics such as cyber-crime, women’s safety, self-defence, and emergency helpline numbers like 112, 1091, 1098, and 1930. They shared valuable tips on how to stay safe and explained the steps to take in case of different emergencies.
Students were also made aware of the risks of misusing social media, the impact of bad peer relationships, and the importance of staying away from legal trouble. The Durga Shakti team gave live demonstrations of self-defence techniques such as striking, blocking, grappling, and escaping. These lessons aimed to make students more alert, confident, and better prepared to handle dangerous situations.
The goal of the session was to help students recognize danger, stay aware of their surroundings, and learn how to avoid or deal with unsafe situations. It also aimed to reduce crime by promoting awareness and safety.
The workshop ended with a speech by the school’s Academic Director, Mrs. Shashi Bala. She thanked the police officials and highlighted the importance of teaching students life skills, self-defence, and respect for the law. The session was very useful and educational for all who attended.
