Faridabad/ Alive News: The YMCA University of Science and Technology, Faridabad celebrated Republic Day with patriotic fervor and gaiety. The Vice Chancellor of University, Prof. Dinesh Kumar hoisted the tricolor at the University premises.
He also took salute at march past presented by the Security Staff of the University and addressed the students and staff. The flag hoisting ceremony was followed by patriotic song ‘Vande Matarm’ presented by the students and singing of the National Anthem.
In his Republic Day address, Prof. Dr. Kumar highlighted the importance of the day. He recalled the contributions of the national leaders in the early post-independence contributions like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Dr. B. R. Ambedhkar, who worked extensively in framing the Constitution of India. He said that each one of us needs to participate for attainment of the goals laid down by the constitution. He urged the students to follow the path shown by great leaders.
Congratulating the faculty members and students of the University on the occasion, he highlighted the recent achievements of the University, and made a fervent appeal to all to work for the progress of the University. He also advised the young students of the university to work towards living to the principles of unity, fairness and equality. He also informed about the various infrastructural development plans in the University campus and announced several new projects likely to be launched in near future.
The ceremony was well attended by the University Registrar Dr. Tilak Raj along with all Deans, HoDs, officers of the University, faculty members, supporting staff and students.
The programme was organized by the NSS wing of the University and coordinated by NSS officer Dr. Pradeep Kumar Dimri. The vote of thanks was delivered by the Programme Convenor. The function culminated with distribution of sweets among all the students and staff members.
