Faridabad/ Alive News: Women as well as youths of Jawahar Colony engaged in fighting with policemen over removal of new wine shop located at Disposal, Jawahar Colony, Faridabad resulting police in charge of Saran Police Station including other policemen allegedly injured and their vehicles were damaged by the agitated people on April 15, 2017. Though the police had arrested two protesters into the matter, but the agitated mob got them released from their position.
The police had to use force to bring the situation under control, but they were helpless in front of the angry women and youth. Sensing the bad situation in the area, extra police forces were called, after which the mob scattered and the attackers hid. In the attack, three policemen had injured, while the police in charge Narendr Sangwan has also suffered injuries on the Neck, Waist and Shoulders. The Saran Police have filed a case against 100 women and youths under criminal charges.
Department of excise and taxation has allotted the wine shop to Surendra, who after constructing shop had started to sell wine on Friday. The area’s women had earlier opposed opening of the shop here, but despite this the shop started. On Saturday some women and youths of the area went to shut down the wine shop. The shop workers informed the police in this regard. Saran Police Station in charge, Narendra Sangwan and Vinod Godara rushed the spot with police team. Seeing the police, the women started protesting and sloganeering.
The police in charge Narendra Sangwan told them that they should complain to the administration to close the wine shop and this is a bad exercise to close the wine shop. The mob didn’t hear the policemen and began to abuse them. During this some youths entered in the wine shop and started throwing out the liquor bottles. Seeing this, the police nabbed two youth and set in their jeep, on which the mob became angry and besieged the police in charge jeep and started ruckus.
