Mumbai/Alive News: Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor allegedly received an extortion threat from a caller claiming to be Hari Boxer, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The caller reportedly demanded ₹5 crore from the actor.
According to news agency IANS, Kapoor informed the Mumbai Police about the threatening call. The case was subsequently handed over to the Anti-Extortion Cell and the Crime Branch for investigation.
The Crime Branch’s technical team examined the audio recording of the call and compared the caller’s voice with an official audio sample of Hari Boxer. Senior police officers said the two voices did not match, raising suspicions that the caller had falsely used the gang member’s identity to intimidate the actor.
Police suspect that the threat was an attempt to create fear by invoking the name of the Lawrence gang. Investigators are now trying to identify the person who sent the threatening audio recording.
