Sudhir Rajpal inspected bypass road water supply pipelines, gave special guidelines

Faridabad/Alive News: Executive Officer of Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA) Sudhir Rajpal on Wednesday evening visited several locations in Faridabad city and issued key directives to improve water supply to ensure residents have adequate access to clean drinking water.

CEO FMDA visited the Sector 9 Junction of bypass road where Line No 3 of 900 mm diameter (dia) water supply pipeline of FMDA has been reduced to 600 mm dia, beyond the bypass. Similarly Line No 7 of 900 dia pipeline at Sector 29 Chowk near bypass is also reduced to 600 mm diaupto NHPC Chowk. The reduced size of these pipelines interrupts the regular flow of water and increases the water pressure in these 600 mm pipelines which leads to leakages. CEO FMDA directed FMDA officers to examine the issue, increase the size of the pipelines or inspect the need to lay new pipelines of adequate sizes to ensure water reaches to the residents on the tail end of the pipeline with adequate pressure and prevent any damage or leakage issue in the pipelines.

“We are working towards improving the water supply to the areas connected via these pipelines. Enhancement of Line No. 3 will augment water supply in Sector 9, 10, 11, NIT area up to Parvatia colony while Line No 7 will benefit the residents of Greenfield Colony and along Surajkund Road. The infra 2 division has been directed to look into the required scope of work for better allocation of water supply in these areas,” said Shri Sudhir Rajpal.
CEO FMDA also issued instructions to the team to ensure that all the tube wells handed over to FMDA by The Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF) should be made operational. Additionally, fourteen tube wells in Greater Faridabad area are still under the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad which are not operational or are incomplete. Shri Sudhir Rajpal directed that FMDA must take over these tube wells and make them functional and in working condition.

The underground tanks of MCF at Fish Market and at Lakkadpur on Surajkund road were also visited by CEO FMDA where water supply lines of FMDA have been connected to improve the supply of water in the nearby vicinity. He examined the water supply and pressure in the FMDA water pipeline and outlined that proper maintenance and sanitation must be ensured of the tanks and surrounding area.

Sudhir Rajpal also visited Hardware Chowk with FMDA officers where the road is in a dilapidated condition and repair work is due by MCF. He instructed the team that FMDA will take up the repair and upgradation of the road to enable smooth traffic flow and improve ridership quality for residents travelling on Hardware Chowk.
