Faridabad/Alive News : One-week Short Term Course on ‘Electric Vehicle Technologies’ organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering of J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad was concluded today. The valedictory program marked the culmination of five days of intensive learning and collaboration among industry experts, scholars, and participants.
In the valedictory session, Prof. Anju Gupta, the Chairperson of the Department, provided an insightful overview of the course’s proceedings. She expressed gratitude towards the resource speakers whose expertise and dedication contributed to the program’s success. Prof. Raj Kumar, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), addressed the participants, highlighting the importance of continually updating knowledge through such initiatives and emphasizing the role of these courses in enhancing the skills of faculty members.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar, extended his appreciation to the department for its proactive initiative in organizing this highly relevant course. Prof. Tomar emphasized the importance of such forward-looking endeavors in equipping both students and faculty members with cutting-edge knowledge and skills that are essential for staying relevant in today’s fast-evolving technological landscape.
The comprehensive five-day program comprised diverse sessions, each conducted by distinguished professors and industry experts specializing in Electric Vehicles. Notable names included Mr. Arun Kapoor, CEO of JBM Green Energy Systems, Gurugram; Prof. Mukhtiar Singh from DTU Delhi; Prof. R.C Bansal from Sharjah University, UAE; and Mr. Arun Sivasubhramaniam, an Automobile Expert and former GM of Hero Motocorps. The speakers delved into a wide array of topics, ranging from the integration of renewable energy and electric vehicles to battery technology, charging infrastructure, electric motors and drive-trains, market trends and adoption, and the myriad challenges and opportunities within the realm of Electric Vehicles.
The program extended beyond theoretical insights, incorporating hands-on practical sessions facilitated by Dr. Saalim Qureshi and Ms. Era Bajpai from Quarbz Info Systems, Kanpur. Participants engaged in comprehensive simulations, ranging from basic to advanced levels, and were introduced to Typhoon HIL technology and its applications. The practical sessions encompassed areas such as PV Panel design, Python script editing, modeling and simulation of EV using signal processing toolbox of Typhoon HIL, and communication protocols, offering participants valuable industry-oriented experience.
Further enriching the learning experience, participants were treated to a guided tour of Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM), a prominent manufacturing facility for electric vehicles in Faridabad. The visit provided a firsthand glimpse into the assembly process of EV cargo vehicles, shedding light on battery design, controllers, and the intricate stages of production. Witnessing the meticulous coordination required to assemble electric vehicles, from chassis to final assembly, left attendees inspired and informed.
To honor the dedication and participation of the attendees, certificates of participation were distributed at the conclusion of the program.
Prof. Poonam Singhal extended a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the organizers, faculty members, and students for their unwavering support. The course was coordinated by Dr. Sakshi Kalra and Dr. Anubha Gautam.
