Students should focus on their skills development: DC

Faridabad/Alive News : The Department of Communication and Media Technology of JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, in collaboration with the Employment and Placement Office today organized ‘Media-Tech’, a portfolio exhibition to showcase the work of media students. The aim of the exhibition was to attract recruiters for internship and placement opportunities for students.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Faridabad Deputy Commissioner Sh. Vikram Kumar and Vice-Chancellor Prof. S.K. Tomar by lighting the lamp. Dean (Institution) Prof. Sandeep Grover, Dean of Liberal Arts and Media Technology Prof. Atul Mishra, Chairperson of the Department Dr. Pawan Singh Malik, and Training and Placement Officer Prof. Sanjeev Kumar were also present on this occasion.

The Director of Nirman Advertising Sh. A.S. Narang and Chief Marketing Officer of Yugasa Software Labs Sh. Manish Pradhan were invited expert to evaluate the professional work presented by students in the exhibition. The exhibition was also visited by media persons from reputed media houses and entrepreneurs.

Addressing the Program, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tomar welcomed the guests and congratulated the Department for conducting such a fantastic event. He said that the portfolio exhibition of students is a commendable initiative by the Department, through which a platform has been provided to the students to showcase their talent. Such events increase self-confidence in the students. He added that the University is committed to provide state-of-the-art facilities to the students, he added.

Speaking on this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Sh. Vikram Kumar appreciated the creative work of the students and the initiative of the Department. He said that to become successful in the media field, the students should focus on skills development and he is glad to know that the students are using their energy in the right direction. He also emphasized the importance of alumni and their role in an Institution. Sh. Vikram, who is graduated as Mechanical Engineer, shared his experience with the students. He extended his best wishes to the students for their bright future. The latest issue of the Departmental Newsletter ‘Sanchaar’ was also released on this occasion. Deputy Commissioner also visited the University studio.

The portfolio exhibition showcased the work of final year students of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Animation and Multimedia, and Journalism and Mass Communication which include photography, videography, news writing, and press release assignments; self-produced news programs, animation, graphics works, documentaries, and films. The students from animation also showcased their expertise in 2D and 3D animation, VFX, and motion graphics. Hand-drawn illustrations, Jewellery, and Digital Art made by students were the center of attraction. Also, they exhibited creative content in the form of animation and graphics for social media and brand development. They also gave information about their work to the visitors. Students of Government Model School Prithla, Balaji School Ballabhgarh, and Sanskriti Model School Sector-55 Faridabad also participated in this program.
