Sports, Physical Education, Fitness and Leisure Skills signed at MRIU

Faridabad: Manav Rachna International University (MRIU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Sports, Physical Education, Fitness and Leisure Skills Council (SPEFL-SC) as a training partner for Skill courses to be conducted by Sports Physical Education Fitness and Leisure Skills Council. In view of the Institution’s commitment towards sports, fitness and skill development, the MoU is a welcome step in the right direction.

Dr. N.C Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIU signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Dr. Satish Aparajit, CEO SPEFL-SC. Dr. G.L Khanna, Dean FAS, MRIU and Member Governing Council of SPEFL-SC was also present on the occasion. The purpose of this agreement is to establish a partnership for imparting employable skill training to the youth in one or more of the several occupations related to the sports sector. MRIU would conduct the skill training courses in Sports Masseur, Physical Trainer, Grass Root level Coach, Physical Activity Trainer, Sports Nutrition by collaborating with the International partners.

SPEFL-SC is a sports skill development council funded by the Government of India through National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and is primarily engaged in the domain of skill development for the Sports, Physical Education, Fitness & Leisure Industry Sector. MRIU in association with SPEFL-SC will conduct research, develop training course curriculum and training modules, training the trainers, assessment and certification of trainers and students. MRIU will aim to promote skill development by catalyzing creation of large, quality, for-profit vocational institutions.

On associating with the Skills Council, Dr. N.C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIU said, “Such a understanding would provide opportunity for the younger generation for better earning and is a step forward towards fulfilling the aim of our Prime Minister’s program of Skill India. We at Manav Rachna are dedicated towards the nation building process and such initiatives are an expression of that vision and goal.”
