Faridabad/Alive News: A seminar on ‘Advances in Biotechnology’ was organized by the Department of Life Sciences of J. C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad.
Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, Prof. J.P. Yadav was the chief guest in the seminar.
Prof. Neeraj Dilbaghi from Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar, and Sh. Subodh Kumar Budakoti from Thermo Fisher Scientific were invited speaker during the seminar. The session was presided over by Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar, Vice-Chancellor of the University. The Dean of Life Sciences, Prof. Neetu Gupta, and the Chairperson (In-charge) of the Department of Life Sciences, Dr. Kakoli Dutt were also present in the session.
The objective of the seminar was to discuss and address the advancements in the field of biotechnology with a focus on area of Nano-Biotechnology and Food biotechnology. The seminar helped the participants to become more aware of the field of biotechnology and related areas.
Prof. S.K. Tomar welcomed the chief guest Prof. J.P. Yadav and addressed the seminar. Prof. Tomar talked about the importance of the field of biotechnology and its relevance in the days today’s life. Prof. Tomar motivated and inspired the students discussing the significance of the field of Biotechnology with an emphasis on the advancements in the area.
In his address, Prof. J.P. Yadav emphasized the rapidly growing era of Biotechnology and upcoming challenging avenues in the field which truly inspired all the faculty members and students of the department. Prof. Tomar also presented a memento to Prof. Yadav as a mark of remembrance after his inspiring and insightful talk.
Later, keynote speaker Prof. Neeraj Dilbaghi delivered a talk on “Nanobiotechnology applications and perspectives”. The lecture focused on the diverse range of recent advancements in the area of nanobiotechnology, its relevance, and its significance. The lecture was extremely informative and insightful.
In another keynote address, Sh. Subodh Kumar Budakoti discussed the practical utilization of the Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry tool in detecting molecules related to food safety. At the end of the session, Dr. Kakoli Dutt proposed the Vote of Thanks
