Kaithal/ Alive News: Deputy Commissioner Sunita Verma has announced cash award Rs 1 lakh to those who give information on sex determination test and female foeticide. The identity of the informers will be kept a secret. She said informers could contact the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) on 7027828309 and Deputy CMO on 7027828310 to share information.
The DC urged sarpanches and Asha workers to help increase the sex ratio. She asked Asha workers to make a list of pregnant women in the villages and monitor their health. She urged them to keep a watch on pregnant women who already had a girl child as they were likely to opt for sex determination test.
Dr Ashok Chaudhary, CMO, said sex ratio in 25 villages and ‘dhanis’ was below 500 and there was an urgent need to motivate women to desist from sex determination test. — OC
