‘Open Mic’ at J.C. Bose University: A Patriotic Cultural Celebration on Unity Day

Faridabad/Alive News: The Department of Communication and Media Technology at J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, in collaboration with Youth for Seva, organized ‘Open Mic Weller Diaries’. The event evoked the memory of great national leaders to instill a sense of patriotism among students. Through this platform, university students showcased their hidden talents and brought alive the richness of Indian culture.

The ‘Open Mic’ program, organized by the Media Department at the university’s Kalam Chowk, is held regularly on the last Friday of every month. Captivating performances of songs, poetry, dance, and other art forms by students left the audience spellbound. This edition was dedicated to Unity Day, observed as the birth anniversary of India’s Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The occasion honored the great leaders who made unparalleled contributions to nation-building.

Department’s Chairperson Prof. Pawan Singh paid floral tributes to Sardar Patel’s portrait, reminiscing about his life and contributions while inspiring the students. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajeev Kumar stated that the birth anniversary of the Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is celebrated as Unity Day. Highlighting Patel’s role in India’s integrity, he imparted lessons on unity and indivisibility to the students.

Participating students demonstrated their multifaceted talents. Every presentation—from songs and poetry to dance and impromptu creativity—touched the audience’s hearts. Poems, speeches, and stand-up acts were infused with Sardar Patel’s ideals and patriotic fervor. The platform proved especially significant for students who rarely get opportunities to showcase their abilities.

At the conclusion, all participants, organizers, and faculty members were felicitated for their outstanding contributions. Under the guidance of Dean Prof. Anuradha Sharma and Coordinator Dr. Akhilesh Tripathi, the event concluded successfully.
