Faridabad/Alive News: one-week Short Term Course (STC) titled “Robotics and Automation: A Gateway to Intelligent Manufacturing” organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering of J. C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad begins today. The program is aimed at advancing skills in robotics and automation for modern manufacturing.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. Rajive Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of the University, as the presiding dignitary. Sh. Satinder Singh Banga, CEO of Victoria Industries Pvt. Ltd., served as the chief guest, while Prof. Ajay K. Singholi from the University School of Automation and Robotics, GGSIPU, East Campus, Delhi, delivered the keynote address.
The event commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, followed by Saraswati Vandana and the University Kulgeet. Dr. Arvind Gupta, Chairperson of the Department, outlined the STC’s objectives, emphasizing its goal to equip students of the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence branch, faculty members, M.Tech, and Ph.D. scholars with cutting-edge knowledge in robotics, automation, and industry-relevant technologies.
In his address, Prof. Rajive Kumar lauded the initiative, stressing the importance of skill development, academic-industry collaboration, and the need to update competencies beyond traditional classroom learning. Sh. S. S. Banga highlighted the significance of the “Make in India” initiative and urged participants to hone their AI and automation skills to contribute to industrial growth.
Dr. Ajay Singholi, in his keynote lecture, elaborated on collaborative automation, ISO standards for human-robot collaboration, challenges in deploying cobots on shop floors, and research opportunities in sensor technologies.
The program coordinators, Dr. Rajeev Saha, Dr. Rajesh Attri, and Dr. Nisha Bhatt, felicitated Dr. Singholi with a memento. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Rajeev Saha.
