Faridabad/Alive News: orientation programme titled ‘Path Pickers’ was organized for Class VIII students and their parents at Jiva Public School, Faridabad, on March 7, 2026. The event, which coincided with the declaration of final examination results, aimed to guide students as they transition into Class IX. As a leading ICSE school, Jiva offers students the opportunity to choose between the Commerce and Science streams early on, following the guidelines of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations.
The program began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, setting a positive and auspicious tone for the day. The primary goal of the event was to provide students with the necessary motivation and guidance to select an academic path that aligns with their personal interests, abilities, and natural strengths. By helping students make informed and confident decisions now, the school aims to build a strong foundation for their future academic performance and career success.
During the session, teachers provided detailed information regarding subject combinations and addressed various concerns from both parents and students. Ms. Rashmi Bhatia, Head of the Commerce Department, and Ms. Manju Rani, Head of the Science Department, explained the ICSE curriculum in depth. They also shared valuable insights into the diverse career opportunities available within their respective fields, ensuring that families understood the long-term benefits of each stream.
Addressing the gathering, School Chairman Rishi Pal Chauhan emphasized that every child is unique, possessing a distinct Swabhava (nature) and Prakriti (inherent disposition). He advised that the selection of a study path should resonate with a child’s true nature, as this alignment is what ultimately leads to excellence and happiness. He encouraged parents to consider their child’s temperament carefully before making a final decision.
Principal Dr. Narjeet Kaur also spoke to the parents, marking this day as an important milestone in the students’ journey toward high school. she encouraged students to choose their streams with confidence and urged parents to prioritize their children’s interests over their own expectations. By supporting what their children truly love, parents can help them embark on a more fulfilling and meaningful professional journey.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Senior Coordinator Ms. Lipika Kaushik, who thanked the management and staff for their dedication. The programme was also attended by School Director Mrs. Chander Lata Chauhan, Head of Academics Mrs. Mukta Sachdeva, and HR Director Ms. Meenakshi Singh, all of whom offered their best wishes to the students for their upcoming academic year.
