Faridabad/Alive News:J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology organized a two-day Book Exhibition on January 29 and 30, 2024 to make the faculty members and students aware of the latest and quality publications in their discipline and to recommend the good books to be purchased in the Central Library.
The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar inaugurated the exhibition where eminent publishers exhibit their publications. The Vice-Chancellor keenly inspected the exhibition and inquired about the latest publications in various disciplines. He urged the faculty members to recommend quality books for the library. Several faculty members are visiting the Book Exhibition and recommending the books of their discipline. Prof. Vikas Kumar, Chairman Library, all deans and chairpersons of various teaching departments were also present on this occasion.
Deputy Librarian Dr P.N. Bajpai said that the main purpose of organizing such a book exhibition is to primarily acquire and strengthen the existing collection of the University library and update the faculty members about the latest publications in their field of interest. McGraw-Hill Education, Pearson, Prentice Hall of India, Sage, CRC, Taylor & Francis, World Scientific, Cambridge University, New Age, Wiley, Springer, CBS, S. Chand, O’Reilly etc publishers have displayed their books. Narender Book Distributor, International Book Centre, Sai Global, Biblioedge, Technical Bureau etc. have also displayed their latest collection.
More than 25 reputed publishers and book distributors participated in the exhibition to showcase their publications in diverse disciplines of Science, Technology, and Humanities. Around 10,000 books were put up on display in the Exhibition. The exhibition received a very enthusiastic response from the students, teachers, and staff members of the University.
