Faridabad/Alive News: J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, will introduce a new undergraduate course, B.Tech in Mathematics and Computer Science, from the next academic session. This step has been taken to promote interdisciplinary education and connect mathematics with modern technologies.
The announcement was made by Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajive Kumar during Mathematics Festival–2026, organized by the Department of Mathematics to celebrate the 138th birth anniversary of great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.
While addressing the gathering, the Vice Chancellor expressed concern over the decreasing number of students opting for postgraduate mathematics courses. He stressed the need to involve students in quality research and encourage meaningful research publications. He said the new B.Tech programme will combine mathematics with computer science and help students build careers in fields such as data science, artificial intelligence, cryptography, and computational research.
The festival was organized as part of National Mathematics Day and included expert lectures, cultural programmes, and student competitions. The event was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor along with Chief Guest Dr. B.K.
