Huawei India signed MoU with SOS Children’s Village India Today

 

Focus on digital literacy to provide computers and internet connections for SOS Children’s Village in Faridabad.

Faridabad/ Alive News: We are passing through a time when nothing is possible without education, but is also an enormous task of education to reach its deserves. Meanwhile, Huawei India today announced its CSR partnership program Daksha with SOS Children’s Villages India with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to support education and child welfare here in SOS Children’s Village Greenfields Faridabad (Haryana).

As a part of the Daksha program, Huawei India connects with 982 children to support quality of education for children living in 10 SOS of India across Maharashtra, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Telengana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Aiming to bridge the digital divide, Dakhsa program also provides for computers and internet facilities to 20 family homes in SOS Children’s Village Greenfields Faridabad (Haryana) to help unlock the digital world for the children living in the SOS Children’s Villages.

In the meantime, addresing the gathering the chief guest in the programme, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Additional Secretary, Department of Electronic & Information Technology (DeiTY) said “Education is the key to creating opportunities, and this partnership reflects the commitment of Huawei as a global corporate citizen, to support the Government’s initiative. We look forward to a win-win industry ecosystem that promotes the sustainable development of the society and economy”.

Similarly, Mr. Jay Chen, CEO Huawei India said, “We believe that sustainable development is possible only when organizations align their corporate goals to the development goals of communities. At Huawei, we are committed to giving back to the community where we operate in. The Daksha initiative will be an umbrella program under which we aim to support children and students—our future resource, with holistic development and adequate digital literacy in line with the vision laid down by the Government of India”.

Applauding this initiative, Ms Anuja Bansal, Secretary General of SOS Children’s Villages of India, said “An initiative like Daksha offers great encouragement to us and strengthens our resolve towards improving lives of once parentless and abandoned children under our care. This support will give a big push towards empowering the SOS Children with quality education as well as opening up their world with computers and internet facilities.
