Haryana Assembly Committee Visits SVSU, Reviews Skill Development and Student Innovation Projects

Faridabad/Alive News: The Welfare of Youth and Youth Affairs Committee of the Haryana Legislative Assembly visited Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU) on Friday to review the university’s skill development initiatives, youth empowerment programmes, and industry-oriented education model.

The five-member delegation was led by Committee Chairman and Samalkha MLA Manmohan Bhadana. Other members included Hodal MLA Harinder Singh, Meham MLA Balram Dangi, Narnaund MLA Jassi Petwad, and Ganaur MLA Devender Singh Kadian. Haryana Principal Secretary Rajeev Ranjan was also present during the visit.

The delegation was welcomed by SVSU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar, while students from the university’s Music Department presented a traditional welcome with Banchari drums.

During the review meeting, Prof. Dinesh Kumar highlighted the university’s key achievements, ongoing initiatives, and future development plans. Academic Dean Prof. Vikram Singh presented the university’s innovative skill-based education model before the committee.

Committee Chairman Manmohan Bhadana praised SVSU as the country’s first government skill university and appreciated its achievements in skill development, entrepreneurship, industry linkages, internships, and placements. He also lauded the innovative projects and startup ideas developed by students and offered suggestions for the university’s future growth.

Following the meeting, the committee toured the university’s Centres of Excellence, equipped with advanced technology and modern machinery. The legislators also visited student startup stalls, interacted with young innovators, and appreciated their projects, encouraging them to continue developing innovative solutions. The delegation participated in a tree plantation drive on the university campus as part of the visit.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Secretary Rajeev Ranjan stressed that the benefits of skill development programmes should reach every eligible youth in the state.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar also raised the issue of improving highway connectivity and transportation facilities to the university before the committee. The dignitaries were later felicitated with mementoes, while Registrar Suman Vashishtha delivered the vote of thanks.

The event was attended by Palwal Deputy Commissioner Jayendra Singh Chhillar, Zila Parishad CEO Jitendra Singh Chauhan, Assembly Under Secretary Naveen Bhardwaj, Liaison Officer V.S. Chaudhary, Assistant Director (SDIT) Vishal Sodi, Assembly Reporters Sanjay Garg and Sunil Kumar, along with university deans, faculty members, department heads, and a large number of students.
