Faridabad Model School organised Cyber security awareness Workshop

Faridabad/Alive News : In this digital era, where children are increasingly wired to the social media and the internet, concerns over cyber security, cyber bullying and cyber hygiene are pertinent. Keeping this in mind, Faridabad Model School hosted the ‘Cyber Security Awareness Workshop’ for the students of Senior Wing.

Present at the occasion were Sub Inspector Mr. Vishal & Head Constable Mr. Tilak from the Cyber Cell Department, FMS Academic Director Mrs. Shashi Bala, the school coordinators and students.

Under the Community Policing and Outreach Programme, the workshop aimed at empowering each young citizen of the society to understand the basic laws and help prevent further crimes in the society apart from protecting themselves. Mr. Vishal addressed the students and covered the basics of cyber security and created awareness about various topics like having a safe and strong password, digital footprint, cyber bullying, online gaming, Internet trolling, two- step authentication and many more privacy settings. The students were informed and apprised about the Do’s and Don’ts in the cyber world.

The session was extremely engaging, where the officials interacted with the students, answered their queries and guided them about safety and security related issues and use of helpline numbers 112 and 1930. They informed regarding various safety precautions followed by case specific administrative measures to be taken.

The session concluded with the address of FMS Academic Director Mrs. Shashi Bala who expressed her gratitude towards the police officials. She also reinforced the need for making the students informed citizens, develop respect for law in the youth, create awareness about cyber-crime and using the digital landscape with caution. The session was enlightening and helped in guiding the students about having a clean digital footprint and using internet responsibly.
