Faridabad Model School celebrated 10th International Yoga Day

Faridabad/Alive News: Faridabad Model School, Sector-31 observed the 10th “International Yoga Day” in the school grounds. On June 21, 2015, our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, initiated Yoga Day for the first time. The United Nations designated 21 June as the “International Day of Yoga” in recognition of the practice’s popularity to people everywhere. Since then, Yoga Day has been observed annually by the Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), Govt. of India.

The class was led by certified yoga instructors from Sarvaang Yoga. All the participants were acquainted with many advantages of practicing yoga. The programme included demonstrations of asanas to enhance flexibility, strength, balance; breathing exercises to alleviate tension, anxiety and relaxing techniques.The students’ and staff members’ expressions conveyed the endless tranquilly of performing the asanas. Yoga was recommended to the students as a way to stay in shape, sharpen their minds, and keep their bodies and minds in balance.Umang Malik, the Director Principal of FMS, thanked the students, parents, instructors and teachers. He guided them all to integrate yoga in their daily lives.
