Faridabad/Alive News: J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology has organized an expert lecture on the topic “Understanding Holistic Development for Students” for media students on the occasion of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati on 5th March. The lecture started with the welcome speech of Dr. Pawan Singh, Chairman of the Department.
During the session, Dr. Kumar said that holistic development essentially means developing the intellectual, mental, physical, emotional and social capabilities of a child so that they are able to face the demands and challenges of everyday life. These abilities are very important for success in the workplace.
He said that every child is unique. He has unique personality traits, interests, preferences, values, attitudes, strengths and weaknesses. He discusses the knowledge of the five sheaths (pancha kosha) in Advaita Vedanta, which demonstrate the illusory nature of personality. To achieve this, overall development of the child is extremely important.
Students gained a descriptive idea about holistic education and its importance in today’s time. The lecture was organized under the leadership of Dr. Pawan Singh, Chairman of the Department. The Chairperson congratulated and appreciated the effort put in by the faculty member and promised to organize more practical exposure lectures for the students in future. The lecture was conducted by Dr. Bharat Dhiman, Assistant Professor of the Department.
