Faridabad/ Alive News: Dr Suresh Arora, President IMA Faridabad opposed the government’s policy being brought against the doctor and hospital. Dr Suresh Arora said that in Indian scenario, constitutionally it is the primary duty of the Govt to provide health to each and every citizen, and Govt is utterly failing in doing so, it is trying to achieve this target through private sector, by tightening a noose around them.
Dr Arora said that the private sector which can and is providing highest possible type of healthcare can’t do it without investing in it. And it has to recover it accordingly. The Govt should rather have more faith on private sector and encourage them, as they are doing the job, which actually Govt has to do. The Govt should bring out good insurance schemes for general public so that all can get treatment. A bigger amount of GDP needs to be spent on health, as is done in many other countries. As far as regulation is concerned, it is definitely going to lead on to this investment in health sector. Coming on Clinical establishment act, IMA has always been strongly opposing it, as we have fears that it will lead on to inspector raj, license raj, closure of smaller set ups, unemployment of existing staffs. Dr Arora said that we have suggested to Govt about 80 amendments, to most of which Govt has agreed in principal in last meeting of State IMA President and ACS. And now if this act is implemented without these amendments, IMA in Haryana shall adopt stringent measures including indefinite strike all over Haryana.
