‘Let’s celebrate the Victory of Humanity, Justice and Truth……’
Faridabad: Delhi Public School Ballabgarh celebrated Navratri festivities with great vigor and enthusiasm on 18th October 2015 by organizing the grand event ‘Durgotsav’. The entire school was decorated with flowers, lights and floating candle which enhance the festivity of the occasion. Students dressed in traditional Garba and Dandiya attire made a spectacular visual treat for everyone to see and relish. Mr. Mahavir Prasad (HCS) SDM, Faridabad was the Chief Guest of the day. Chief Guest of the day was welcomed by the Pro-Vice Chairman of the school Mr. S.P.Lall by presenting a sapling. He welcomed all the guests and showed his gratitude for their presence. Members of school managing committee were among the distinguished guests.
Durgotsav began with the Lightning of the Lamp by the Chief Guest. Durga Puja was performed by the guests and the entire school. Students offered prayers and presented a beautiful recital. Various stories related to Goddess Durga was enacted by the students through their dance performance ‘Nrityanjali’. The entire school cherished the ‘Garba celebration’. Ram-Leela’ was presented by the students of classes III-VIII, beautifully showcasing the chronicles of Lard Rama with great enthusiasm and energy. It began with the birth of Lord Ram and continued to tell the story of his marriage with Sita, exile and the battle between him and Ravan which is symbolic of good winning over evil. It inspired us to follow the path of truth and motivate us to live with love.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Prasad appreciated the student’s enthusiasm. He emphasized on the mutual cooperation of parents and teachers for building the bright future of students. He exaggerated the important role of PTM where Parents and teachers got the opportunity to discuss about the students and share their views. He wished India to be at the first position in education in coming next ten years. He congratulated the school for organizing such a grand event.
Principal of the school, Ms Arti Anil Lawand welcomed all the guests of the event and urged the students to make rules and regulations to be successful in life. She appreciated all the participants and staff of the school for their efforts. She added education is more than imparting knowledge; it’s about encouraging students to do significant things through fun filled activities, keeping in mind that every student is special and unique.
She told the importance of Dusshera. “Dusshera is also called as vijaydashmi. A symbol of triumph of virtue over sin & immorality. Victory of Lord Ram over Demon Ravan. Victory of Goddess Durga Over Deman Mahishasura. Victory of God over evil. Victory of Right over Wrong. Victory of Truth over lies. The message we want our blooming buds – our children to appreciate & inculcate in their lives”
Vote of thanks was given by the Headmistress of the school, Ms Purnyma Wadhwa. She emphasized that DPS Ballabgarh equips students with the requisite skills to be tomorrow’s leaders with a critical and global thinking.
