DAV School 49 celebrated Grandparents’ Day

Faridabad/Alive News : DAV School 49 celebrated Grandparents’ Day by love, joy and cultural pride. The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, accompanied by the recital of mantras by the students of UKG, setting a serene and auspicious tone for the day. The Principal, Shri Rajan Gautam warmly welcomed the esteemed chief guests—Madhu Omchery, President of DAV Public School; Neelam Bhalla, the Founder Principal and Shyamoli Banerjee, retired in-charge of the Primary Wing along with the grandparents. In his address, the Principal emphasized the invaluable role of grandparents, highlighting the blessings and guidance they bring into the lives of children.

UKG students also staged enchanting scenes

The tiny tots from Nursery and UKG classes performed lively dances in genres like disco, Punjabi folk and a tribute to Lord Rama. LKG and UKG students also staged enchanting scenes from the Ramayana. In her speech, Neelam Bhalla praised the Principal’s efforts and encouraged grandparents to instill good values in their grandchildren to build a better future for the nation. Madhu Omchery also highlighted the importance of traditional practices, such as hawan and mantra recitals to keep children connected with their roots and stressed the value of joint families.

Celebration ended with the recital of the Shanti Path

Adding a personal touch to the event, a grandparent sang a melodious song, receiving warm applause from the audience. Later, Pragya Yadav, a student of UKG delivered the vote of thanks expressing gratitude to the guests, participants and the entire school community for making the event memorable. The event concluded with a heartwarming moment as the tiny tots sang Grandparents’ Vandana, showering flowers on their grandparents to express their love and appreciation. The celebration ended with the recital of the Shanti Path and National Anthem leaving everyone with cherished memories of the day.
