DAV School Organises Prerna-2026 Science Camp

Faridabad/Alive News: D.A.V. Public School, Sector-37, Faridabad successfully hosted the three-week Science Summer Camp ‘Prerna-2026’ from June 3 to June 23, 2026. The camp was jointly organized by the Society for Promotion of Science and Technology in India (SPSTI) and the Haryana Education Department, Panchkula, under the guidance of the school Principal, Ms. Deepti Jagota.

Around 290 students from DAV Public School and various government schools across Faridabad enthusiastically participated in the camp.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Faridabad Commissioner Sanjay Joon, Block Education Officer Shri Dheeraj Singh, SPSTI President (Retd. IAS) Shri Dharamveer, SPSTI Manager Shri Mahipal Sharma, SPSTI Coordinator Dr. Ritu Sharma, along with several other distinguished guests.

During the camp, students took part in exciting science-based activities, including rocket making and launching, paper telescope making, optical illusion experiments, and star-gazing sessions where they observed Venus, Jupiter, and Jupiter’s satellites. These hands-on activities helped students develop scientific thinking, creativity, observation skills, and curiosity.

One of the major highlights of the programme was an educational visit to the Nehru Planetarium in New Delhi, where students learned more about astronomy and space science through interactive sessions.

The closing ceremony was attended by officials from SPSTI and the Haryana Education Department, who appreciated the enthusiasm of the students and the dedicated efforts of the organizers, mentors, teachers, and volunteers.

Principal Ms. Deepti Jagota congratulated all the participants and thanked SPSTI, the Haryana Education Department, resource persons, teachers, volunteers, and parents for their valuable support in making the camp a grand success.

The programme concluded with the distribution of medals and trophies to the best performers, while all participants received certificates for successfully completing the Science Summer Camp.
