Faridabad: In our multicultural society we need to instill & enforce the universal values of brotherhood, tolerance, peace, compassion, patriotism & solidarity in our children. With these intentions students and staff of DAV NH-3, NIT celebrated Dussehra in the school premises on 16-Oct-15 with great enthusiasm and energy.
A celebration in the form of special assemblies was held to sensitize students towards living in harmony in a diverse society. They are taught to learn to use their thinking ability & skills to work for a safe & better world & to live in harmony with their fellow. A special assembly was conducted, in which students spoke on the significance of the festival and how it is celebrated in the country.
The program began with the speech given by Kirti of class-II. Cultural programmes were held in the school premises. The little stars performed a dance play (NRTIYA NATIKA) in which, they showcased the episode from the tales of Ramayana. Choupai from Ramayana was presented by Chanda of class-II in a graceful manner. Colourful attire worn by the dancers and colourful sticks, arrows & swords carried by them were eye-catching.
The little ones were dressed up in their best, like Ram, Lakshman, Sita, Ravan and Durga. They showcased the rituals and traditions. The grand looking effigies of Ravana, Meghnad & Kumbhakarana were prepared & decorated by the students. These were torched signifying the triumph of good over evil. The students imbibed the message – Good always wins over evil.
At the end the school Principal Mrs. Jyoti Dahiya appreciated everyone for presenting a wonderful programme & showered her blessings.
