CPCB claims Air quality in Faridabad bad

Faridabad/ Alive News: Whatever the cause is, but air quality in Faridabad is too bad. It has been claimed by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
The air quality index chart of the CPCB, which was posted on its website on Tuesday, put Faridabad among four cities whose air quality is ‘Very poor’. The other three cities are New Delhi, Agra and Gurugram.
It is the average index value of the prominent pollutants like PM-2.5 and PM-10 in the past 24 hours and was recorded by monitoring stations in the respective cities at 4 pm.
During the past few days, the average level of PM-2.5 in the air of this city has been several times higher than the safe level. The average level recorded in the past one week hovered around 388 micrograms per cubic metre, which is well over 6.5 times of the safe value of 60.
Admitting that the air quality in the city has been poor and threatens to turn hazardous at times especially in the mornings and evenings, officials of the Haryana Pollution Control Board (HPCB) claimed that it was due to several factors, including smog and dip in temperature.
