Center is committed to bring another revolution in agriculture: Rajnath

Faridabad/ Alive News: The Center is committed to bringing about another revolution in agriculture to make farmers financially stable, said Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at the inauguration of the three-day second Agri Leadership Summit at Surajkund in the district today.

He asserted that they would make agriculture more productive and rewarding and tap the potential to interconnect horticulture, dairying and food processing.

Claiming that the Union government had been working on its plan to interlink rivers in the country, he said this would help bring more than 76 lakh hectares under irrigation by 2019. A special fund of Rs 20,000 crore had been set up by NABARD to improve irrigation facilities in the country, he added.

Talking about fertilisers, he said the prices of urea and other fertilisers had been reduced and the government would produce neem-coated urea to enhance the fertility of soil.
