Faridabad/Alive News : A curtain raiser program to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar, noted scientist and founder Director of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), was organized at JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad.
The program was organized in collaboration with Vigyan Bharti Haryana. Prof. Gaurav Verma, from Dr. S.S. Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Panjab University, Chandigarh, was keynote speaker for the occasion. The session was presided over by Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar, Vice-Chancellor of JC Bose University.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Jawahar Lal, President of VIBHA Haryana, who offered an insightful introduction to the program. He also outlined the details of the upcoming celebration of Dr. Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar’s birth anniversary, which is scheduled to take place at NIT Kurukshetra on 12 August 2023.
In his keynote address, Prof. Gaurav Verma provided a captivating glimpse into the extraordinary life and pioneering work of Dr. Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar. He highlighted the visionary leadership of Dr. Bhatnagar, who played a pivotal role in advancing science in India through CSIR Laboratories.
Earlier, Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar, in his address, highlighted the invaluable contributions, vision, and accomplishments of Dr. Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar. He emphasized the significance of preserving Dr. Bhatnagar’s legacy and motivating the current generation to uphold his ideals. Prof. Tomar underscored the depth of Indian science and the wisdom of Indian scientists, inspiring the audience to pursue scientific knowledge while emphasizing the importance of understanding concepts through one’s mother tongue.
Concluding the event, Prof. Sathans, a member of VIBHA Haryana, delivered closing remarks and extended a vote of thanks to Prof. Gaurav Verma for his enlightening keynote address. The event was coordinated by Dr. Bindu Mangla and Dr. Arun Kumar, along with the dedicated team from Vigyan Bharti Faridabad.
