Srinagar/Alive News: Security forces have arrested two suspected terrorist associates in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir and recovered a Turkish-made Canik pistol, ammunition and two improvised explosive devices (IEDs), officials said.

The two suspects, both residents of Chinkipora in Sopore, are suspected of working as overground workers (OGWs) and providing logistical support to terrorist groups, including helping them obtain weapons and explosives.

The arrests followed a joint operation by the Army’s 52 Rashtriya Rifles and Baramulla Police in the Darpura Nursery area near Delina Ghat. Acting on intelligence inputs, the security personnel launched the operation and detained the suspects.

Officials said the recovery included a pistol, a magazine containing 10 rounds and two IEDs. The arrests are part of continuing efforts to dismantle networks suspected of supporting terrorist activities in the Kashmir Valley.

According to officials, 18 suspected terrorist associates have been arrested in Jammu and Kashmir over the past 60 days.
