Gorakhpur/ Alive News: The death of children in the hospital is still going on. The death of children in Baba Raghav Das (BRD) Medical College is still continuing. A major tragedy took place once again in the hospital and about 25 children died due to serious illnesses including encephalitis within 24 hours. A total of 66 patients were admitted in the hospital. 19 patients out of all patients were encephalitis, in which 4 patients are encephalitis, 10 babies were admitted in baby ICU and 11 were other victims of diseases who admitted in pediatric ICU.
The 4 children who died due to encephalitis are as Mamta (12 year old) from Santkabir Nagar, Sweta (6 year old) from Baliya, Praveen (4 year old) from Kushinagar and Ritesh (2 year old) from Maharajganj. A total of 743 patients of encephalitis have been admitted to the medical college since January and till now. In which, 179 patients have died and 106 patients are currently undergoing treatment.
Doctor and his wife nabbed
Apart from this, UP special task force has nabbed prof Dr Rajiv Mishra along with his wife Dr Purnima Shukla in connection with the death of children from Kanpur. Inspector General of Police, Vijay Singh meena told that Dr Rajiv Mishra and his wife Dr Purnima Shukla have been arrested from Kanpur and were brought to Gorakhpur. They are engaged in the death of 60 children.
