YMCA University organized short term Course ‘MATLAB’

Faridabad/ Alive News: The Department of Mechanical Engineering of YMCA University of Science and Technology, Faridabad in collaboration with Design Tech Pvt. Limited organized a week-long Short Term Course (STC) on MATLAB and SIMULINK from July 18 to 22, 2016. The course, certified by MathWorks, was designed to understand the fundamentals of programming concepts and the skills and techniques needed for basic problem solving using Matlab.

          The Course was attended by the Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of the University. He also interacted with the participants and stressed on the importance of software like MATLAB for students and research scholars in the field of Science and Technology.

Meanwhile, registrar Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sharma, Prof. Sandeep Grover, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology and Professor M. L. Aggarwal, Chairman, Mechanical Engineering Department were also present on this occasion.

          The Vice-Chancellor appreciated the efforts for successfully organizing the Course and stressed that MATLAB is one of the most popular numerical computing environment and programming language used for research and development mostly in Engineering and Sciences both in the academia and industry. He also motivated the faculty to organize similar courses for students and industry in future.

          The programme was coordinated by Prof. Navdeep Malhotra and Sh. Mukesh Gupta.

          During the Technical Sessions of the programme, the participants were apprised of the various blocks, Menu description and importance of Command window present in MATLAB and their utilities.  Sessions were also held on how to derive a mathematical model and then implement that model in Simulink. Faculty members from YMCA University and other institutions participated in the programme.
