Teacher’s Day celebrated at J.C. Bose University with great enthusiasm

Faridabad/Alive News: J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, marked Teachers’ Day with immense enthusiasm, commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a distinguished scholar and former President of India.

The event, organized by the Faculty Association, was themed “Honoring the Pillars of Education” and celebrated the invaluable contributions of teachers to nation-building, while honouring former faculty members for their dedicated service to the University. The program was attended by Prof. Ajay Ranga, Registrar of the University, alongside deans, chairpersons of various departments, and faculty members.In his address, Prof. Ranga congratulated the gathering and emphasized the demanding nature of teaching, which requires discipline, preparation, and unwavering dedication. He urged a shift in educational focus toward practical knowledge and innovative teaching methods to prepare students for real-world challenges. Highlighting the University’s strong alumni network, he called for collective efforts to restore the institution’s “royalty” and pride, fostering holistic development.

The ceremony included the felicitation of Prof. C.K. Nagpal and Prof. M.L. Aggarwal, who were honoured with ‘Samman Patra’ for their over 30 years of exemplary service to the University, received warm applause from the gathering. 

Earlier, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, President of the Faculty Association, delivered the welcome address, expressing gratitude to Prof. Ranga for his steadfast support and reaffirming the association’s commitment to fostering collaboration and creating opportunities for faculty.

Prof. Pardeep Dimri, Dean Student Welfare, congratulated all on the occasion, stating, “Shikshak Ka Samman, Sambhavnayon Ka Samman Hai” (honoring teachers is honoring possibilities). Referencing the University’s Kulgeet, he highlighted its representation of both heritage and aspirations, citing Chanakya as an epitome of an ideal teacher who imparts wisdom and humility. 

Prof. Sandeep Grover from the Department of Mechanical Engineering spoke on the theme “Inspiring Youth for the Future,” urging teachers to reflect on their role in shaping future-ready minds.

Prof. C.K. Nagpal, former Professor of Computer Engineering, likened teaching to a performing art, emphasizing the fulfillment derived from leaving a classroom with a sense of accomplishment. He inspired the audience with his words, “A teacher must perform in the classroom, and your heart should feel good when you leave.” 

Prof. M.L. Aggarwal, former Professor of Mechanical Engineering, stressed the importance of strengthening teaching and placement efforts, noting that internships are critical for students’ professional growth and preparation for future challenges.

The event featured vibrant cultural performances and tributes dedicated to teachers, celebrating their roles as mentors, guides, and nation-builders. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sunil Kumar, General Secretary of the Faculty Association, who expressed gratitude to all participants, organizers, and contributors for making the celebration a success.
