Faridabad/Alive News : The Department of Communication and Media Technology, YMCA, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology is organizing a 12-day Induction Program 2023 for newly admitted students.
The fourth day of the ongoing program started with a master class by Jaideep Karnik, Editor, Amar Ujala Digital, at the Vivekananda Auditorium of the University. The program started with the Chairman of the Department, Dr. Pawan Singh welcoming the guest by giving him a sapling. Session expert Jaideep Karnik took the stage and addressed the students.
Before sharing his thoughts, he asked the students why they chose journalism. He further explained in his own words the importance of “accountability” in the life of a true journalist and pointed out that this is the core difference between ethical journalists and digital creators. The second aspect he discussed was “language”. It is important for a journalist to have a command over language and he should be effective with his words.
A person who does not have command over any language cannot become an ideal journalist. The expert also shed light on the concept of AI in which he talked about that “AI cannot really take over the jobs of real content owners” because AI information is limited somewhere but not everything. Those who have originality in their content can brighten their future in future. On this occasion, he also answered many questions.
Addressing the curiosity of the youth who want to make their career in web media, Shri Karnik said that in our country, traditional media and television media is an expensive industry which is based on advertising. Due to less advertising, traditional media starts facing all kinds of problems. Journalists are also in trouble.
Whereas in digital media, any person can create a website and start working from laptop or mobile. The cost is very low. The best part is that he himself is the reporter, owner and editor. One can become an entrepreneur in wave media with less capital. Later, a question answer session was conducted for the students to clear all their doubts with the expert.
