Delhi/ Alive News: The Second Nirankari International Samagam (NIS-2) will be held in Toronto, Canada, on July 2 and 3, 2016 as Tribute to Humanness. Besides thousands of devotees of the Sant Nirankari Mission from all over Canada and USA, a large number of delegates from other countries are attending the Samagam.
Initially, the Samagam was planned to be held under the spiritual guidance of Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, with some pathway events to focus on the theme of Humanness based on spiritual enlightenment. And Baba Ji encouraged the youth to plan, organize and conduct the various events so that the world could learn a lesson for the youth elsewhere so misguided and engaged in anti-social activities.
The sudden demise of His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj in a car crash near Montreal, Canada, on May 13, 2016, however, changed the whole scenario. No doubt in view of the advanced stage of preparations, his successor as the Spiritual Head of the Mission, Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj did not cancel or postpone the Samagam but changed the focus slightly. Now the Samagam will discuss Humanness based on spiritual awakening as professed and lived by Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj. Hence, the title: Tribute to Humanness.
Even though Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj may not be able to preside over the Samagam personally, she would be blessing the devotees through a message.
On Saturday, July 3, the Samagam will be marked by Sewa Dal Rally at the Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan Toronto. Thousands of men and women in Sewa Dal uniform will participate in P.T. Parade, games and some cultural items. They will not only re-emphasize the need of physical fitness but the role of selfless service of humanity as a means to express our devotion to God. These volunteers do not only look after the arrangements during congregations and Samagams, but are always ready to serve the community or the mankind through blood donation, health check-up camps, cleanliness and tree plantation drives and rescue and relief measures during natural calamities.
The main Samagam – Tribute to Humanness, will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2016. The venue will be Pearson Convention Centre in Toronto. Saints from across the world will focus on the teachings of Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj to learn from his humanness. The pathway events for the Samagam started right from March with a peace walk in Calgary. Thousands of devotees from Canada, mostly the youth participated in the one-hour walk. They were all dressed in shirts featuring Baba Ji’s messages of ‘Oneness’, ‘A World Without Walls’ and ‘Humanness’.
A Global Wellness Run in Toronto was the highlight on June 29, 2016. Thousands of devotees of the Mission and other people participated in this 5 Km run through a scenic route. Many delegates, who have already arrived for the Samagam, also participated in this event.
