Faridabad: Manav Rachna Academic Staff College organized an interaction on ‘Research Experience for undergraduate students’. The seminar had Dr R. Shivaraman, Director Research at Accendere Knowledge Management Services Private Limited, as the guest speaker. The talk session was also attended by Ms Paulami Ganguly, Research Head of Career Launcher, along with several senior dignitaries and Faculty of MREI. The major objective of the discussion was overall development of faculties and students.
Welcoming the Chief Guest, Brig. (Retd) S.N. Setia, Executive Director, Manav Rachna Academic Staff College & Director Admissions, MREI, said, “Manav Rachna Educational Institutions believes in adapting innovative initiatives to groom their students to be industry-ready and for this, research and development are of utmost importance.”
While addressing the gathering, Dr R.Shivaraman, Director Research at Accendere Knowledge Management Services Private Limited who is Chennai-based and winner of the Young Scientist Research Award, said, “An innovation-driven economy requires strong investment in R&D, innovation and commercialization. There is also a need to build successful partnerships between industry and publicly funded research centres.”
While citing various research-oriented case studies, Dr R.Shivaraman explained that research can help a university in its promotion as well as improve its global rankings. His words of wisdom, emphasizing, “The principal goal of education in the schools should be creating men and women who are capable of doing new things, not simply repeating what other generations have done” captivated the audience.
