Faridabad/Alive News : The Haryana Government has appointed Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Ranga, Professor of Law at the University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh, as the Registrar of JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad. A notification to this effect was issued by Haryana Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh, with the appointment made by the Hon’ble Governor of Haryana and Chancellor of the University, Shri Bandaru Dattatraya.
Prof. Ranga succeeds Dr. Rajiv Kumar Singh, who was holding the Additional Charge of Registrar of the University from January 15, 2025. Prof. Ranga, who was accompanied by his wife Dr. Jaswinder Kaur, today formally assumed the charge of Registrar in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar. Prof. Tomar congratulated him on his new role. University officials also extended a warm welcome to Prof. Ranga and congratulated him.
Expressing his gratitude, Prof. Ranga thanked the Hon’ble Governor of Haryana and Chancellor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya, Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini, and Education Minister Shri Mahipal Dhanda for entrusting him with this significant responsibility. He stated, “I will make every best effort to fulfill the aspirations and trust with which the State Government has entrusted me with the responsibility of the University and to take the University to new heights in every sphere.”
Dr. Ajay Ranga is a distinguished legal academic and administrator with over two decades of experience in legal education and social justice initiatives. Holding a Ph.D. in Law from Panjab University, Chandigarh, Prof. Ranga specializes in Criminal Law and Forensic Sciences. His academic contributions include extensive research, publications in reputed journals, and shaping legal education as a Professor (Law) at Panjab University, Chandigarh and Dean, Chitkara Law School, Chitkara University, Punjab.
His administrative expertise is evident from his prior roles as Registrar and Director at Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, and as a member of key bodies such as the Senate, Syndicate, Executive and Academic Councils, and Finance Committees across various institutions.
On this occasion, Dr. Rajiv Kumar Singh, Controller of Examination, Dr Meha Sharma, Sh. Munish Gupta, Sh. Sachin Gupta, All Deputy Registrars, Dr. Vivek Sharma, Workshop Superintendent, Assistant Law Officer Ms. Renu Dagar and other senior officials were present on this occasion.
